Rumor: Apple TV Getting A Major Update, Perhaps Propelling It Out Of Hobbyland

According to the Blog of Record , Apple is bolstering its collection of engineers dedicated to the Apple TV. The sources, who “refused to be identified,” naturally, said ATV may be getting an OS update to iOS instead of the stripped down OSX kernel it is currently running

Internet TV Search Engine TVLinks Exits Stealth – Content Goes Missing

What’s this, a European startup thinking global? TVLinks , an Internet TV guide and video search engine, exits stealth mode today, and says it wants to battle the big US search engines and TV listings sites. It currently houses a database of over 30,000 movies, and 2,000 TV shows consisting of 80,000 episodes.

Google To Unveil Broad New Social Product Tomorrow

Google is planning to unveil a broad new social product on Tuesday that will integrate with at least two existing Google products. Some details emerged earlier today on the Wall Street Journal (“a new feature that makes it easier and faster for users of Gmail to view media and status updates”), but our understanding is that the product goes well beyond a Gmail integration. As I wrote last night , there is still a lot of room for improvement in online social services.

Dailymotion Lands On The iPhone

A free to download version ( iTunes link ) that is supported by ads and a premium ad-free version that costs €4.99, which seems a little on the high side, although that depends on how intrusive those ads are to you
